West Valley Families Local Business Week: Two amazing Estrella residents are Joe and Amie Bruyer. The Bruyers are some of the nicest people you'll meet in Estrella. From the mid-west, the Bruyers have established their family roots here and once you get to know them, you'll love their fun sense of humor, too! The Bruyers also participate in our West Valley Families - Estrella Charity Program. They contribute greatly to our community in many ways... including as board members at Estrella Youth Sports.
It's fun to bring you this feature from July 2015. We hope you enjoy getting to know more about them! Watch our Facebook page for more features all week long! |
Q. Tell me about your family. Where are you from and how did you decide to move to Estrella?
A. We were high school sweethearts and have been married for 22 years. Two children, Ben, 17 senior in high school. Hopes to play college football. Alie 13, going on 19. Loves soccer and hanging out with her friends.
Both raised in Sioux City, IA, a job transfer offered us a chance to move here. Lived in Avondale for 2 1/2 years and soon after knew we wanted to raise our kids in Estrella.

Q. Tell me about your interests... what do you like to do?
A. LOL! Our lives revolve around all sports, all the time! We also both love to volunteer and think it is paramount that our children understand how important it is to serve others. Our kids are as passionate about volunteering as we are.

Q. Please tell us about Bruyer Pool Service. How long has it been in business and how many communities do you now serve?
A. Our 2nd business anniversary is coming up thanks to the amazing support of the Estrella Community. In addition to Estrella Mountain Ranch - EMR - we service pools in 6 other communities in the greater Goodyear area. Q. What is unique about your business and business philosophy?
A. What makes Bruyer Pool Service unique is that we concentrate on the EMR area and focus on getting a quick response time to our customers. We try to get to requests within the same day and most times it is within the hour. Unique services: Because of our proximity to our customers we are able to service their needs quickly. Q. What is your best advice for consumers thinking about building a new pool?
A. Keep it simple! Every added feature and valve are potential future breakdowns. Call me for a professional opinion and recommendations BEFORE your build. |
Q. Any advice chlorine versus salt water pools?
A. Both do the job, and the preference is up to the individual. Salt cells require regular maintenance to operate effectively and that tends to get overlooked.

We both would love to see a girls softball field and an ADA accessible sports fields.
Q. What is one thing you’d like to see in Estrella over the next 10 years?
A. A new clubhouse/full service restaurant at the golf course is on Joe's wish list. Amie would love a library of sorts. We both loved the fireworks at the lake this year, fun to see some friends that we haven't seen for awhile. We both would love to see a girls softball field and an ADA accessible sports fields. Q. Please tell me about the charities you support and why.
A. We are very active Board members of Estrella Youth Sports. We have been involved since its inception due to the fact that Amie got tired of putting 10 million miles on her car driving both kids to sports down the hill. We loved the convenience, but even moreso love the fact that our kids would be playing sports with other kids that they would eventually be in high school with. Even though our kids are too old to play in the leagues anymore we are still extremely involved so that other families can enjoy this community based non-profit group. |
