Today... we introduce Lacy Alan Wetzel and The Estrella Motorcycle Riding Group and O.N.E. The Off-Roaders Network of Estrella. Thanks, Lacy!!

Q. Tell me about yourself. Where are you from and how did you move to Estrella?
A. A little about me - Born in Portland Oregon and growing up in Southern California I retired from the recording industry in 2004 and got into logistics. After traveling throughout this great country most of my life, when it was time to settle down and plant some roots, Estrella Mountain Ranch exceeded my expectations. The cost of living, beauty, and sense of community are a few of the things I found most appealing and purchased a home here in March of 2010.
Q. Tell me about the groups you have. How did they get started and how often do you meet?
A. The Estrella Motorcycle Riding Group : In March of 2013 an individual posed a question in the General Discussion section of the original Estrella Forums website. "Does anybody know of any motorcycle riding groups in the area?" My response was, "Not that I know of let's start one." A meeting time was set at Starpointe Residents Club, invitations sent out, and the EMR Riding Group was established.
O.N.E. The Off-roaders Network of Estrella: Started in December of 2014 O.N.E. is a platform for the community and friends to get to together and hit the trails in AZ with your ATV, side by side, or 4x4. You can find and add trail trips for O.N.E. online.

Following that first meeting I got busy providing our new community group with content by planning and finding events and rides for us to participate in, branding the group by refining our name to the more descriptive Estrella Motorcycle Riding Group aka E.M.R.G., creating our logo, and building a communication platform.
Q. What kind of charity events do you do?
A. From the beginning charity has been a priority to the E.M.R.G., with our first ride joining a poker run for Sounds of Autism. Children, Animals, Cancer, Veterans, and First Responder charities are some of our favorite to support and include - Hand-in-Hand ride for Phoenix Children's Hospital, Toy's to the Kids, Saddle up for the Kids (HOGZ Untied), The Moving Wall, Memorial Day Ride, Wounded Vets Run, The 100 Club, 911 Tribute Ride, Bikers for Boxers, Wildlife Soar Run, Bikers for Boobies, and the annual Turkey Run to name a few.
The Estrella Motorcycle Riding Group recently celebrated it's 2nd year anniversary with an email list of 76 people and 52 registered members on emrgroup.wix.com continuing to grow with members associated from a number of groups including HOG, Patriot Guard, and American Legion Riders. From a ride to eat (R.T.E.), day trip, overnight run, or charity ride we have a little something for everybody and riders of all skill levels from beginners to seasoned for decades. If you ride or sit on the back of anything 2 or 3 wheeled join the Estrella Motorcycle Riding Group every 2nd Sunday in the Starpointe Residents Club at 11:00 for a meeting, fun, and a ride.
